Course overview
Be prepared to thrive in the rapidly evolving world of digital finance with the Bachelor of Commerce majoring in FinTech. You will develop foundational knowledge in financial literacy, accounting principles, economic environments, and business law, while building practical skills in data analysis and coding-essential for working with emerging financial technologies. Students completing this degree will graduate with the award of Bachelor of Commerce. The Bachelor of Commerce majoring in FinTech is subject to approval.
The FinTech (Financial Technology) major focuses on the technologies transforming financial services, including blockchain, digital currencies, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital automation. Students will explore the foundations of FinTech, the structure and function of financial markets, and the ethical and sustainable dimensions of financial decision-making and innovation. Students will also gain hands-on experience in risk management, investment strategies, and the application of FinTech in banking and finance. With a strong emphasis on innovation and real-world application, this major equips you to lead and adapt in a constantly evolving digital-first financial landscape.
Practical experience
This degree provides students with practical experience that prepares them for the workforce. Students will gain hands-on experience through Work-Integrated Learning and industry placement programs, as well as immerse themselves in live industry projects with the New Venture Institute and engage with businesses in a real-world environment.

Graduates will be equipped to apply digital tools and financial technologies to solve business problems, manage risk, and drive innovation in financial services. You'll be prepared for roles such as FinTech analyst, blockchain strategist, digital banking specialist, innovation consultant, risk and compliance analyst, banking and credit specialist, and product manager in FinTech firms. Potential employers include FinTech startups, digital banks, investment platforms, technology firms, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions.
