Course overview

In this course students will develop independence through applied, research-led and future focused learning. Students will invent, design, prototype, and test innovative, inclusive, and responsible design propositions and solutions to complex concerns in the form of new products, experiences, and services. Students will learn to design by working on real world problems, in industry and community contexts, and with direction and feedback from experts in industrial design. Across all levels of the course, students engage in the creative, industry partnered and research-led integration of learning through design studio projects. Students have the option of an area of major or specialisation in industrial design, and the option of an area of minor from within industrial design or from other disciplines in the university.   These experiences culminate in a self-directed design research project in the final year.
