Course overview

In this course, students develop competencies to manage construction processes, personnel, estimates, costs, and contracts. They examine the financial, legal, and environmental contexts of the construction industry. Students develop skills to manage and lead construction projects from inception to completion. Students study construction technologies, estimating, construction law, contract administration, building information modelling, sustainability and entrepreneurship and complete three research subjects. Students can choose to minor in Urban Strategy and Sustainable Planning, Applied Project Skills, Property Investment Strategies, Property Technology and Management and Project Management Practice. Graduates working in construction professions are likely to manage people and resources to ensure professional delivery of construction projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, recreational, and other developments.
