This program prepares you for real-world contemporary social work practice. You will gain the knowledge and skills needed to be a critically reflective agent of change within complex and diverse settings. The course is designed to equip you with the skills to work with individuals, families, groups and communities. You will learn about how social, cultural and historical contexts shape our worlds by studying human development, human rights, social justice, social work theories, skills for practice and understand the importance of celebrating diversity and the importance of social work ethics.. In the final two years of your program, you will undertake supervised professional practice (work integrated learning) in two social work field education settings.

VTAC Personal Statement Applicants who wish other criteria to be considered such as work/life experience or motivation to study should complete the VTAC Personal Statement. Supporting documentation should include a current resume and any other relevant evidence e.g. letter from employer, professional development activities etc. Work/Life Experience Five years (minimum) work/life experience in Human Services or similar, or applicants that completed an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate more than two years ago.
