The Bachelor of Criminal Justice and Psychological Studies is an engaging and comprehensive course designed to prepare students for a career in the justice system or community welfare. Students gain an understanding of the factors contributing to criminal behaviour, along with the legal, political and community responses to social issues. The course covers topics such as criminal justice systems, ethics, alternative approaches and the law, additionally students explore psychology studies to gain insights into human behaviour. Students will also develop an understanding of the complex interplay between society, the law and individuals involved in the criminal justice system. There is opportunity for industry placement within the criminal justice or psychology fields to ensure students graduate with confidence and readiness for the workforce. This course empowers students to contribute meaningfully to society and pursue successful careers in various sectors of the criminal justice field.

When students graduate, they will be qualified to seek employment in the criminal justice system, which is increasingly becoming professionalised and requiring graduates with a broad knowledge of justice in a range of professional and community settings. VTAC Personal Statement Applicants who wish other criteria to be considered such as work/life experience or motivation to study should complete the VTAC Personal Statement. Supporting documentation should include a current resume and any other relevant evidence e.g. letter from employer, professional development activities etc. Work/Life Experience Five years (minimum) work/life experience in Justice or Police Administration, Corrections, Legal support, Human Services or similar. OR: Applicants that completed an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate more than two years ago.
