Bachelor of Oral Health

As a Bachelor of Oral Health student, you will develop all the scientific, theoretical and clinical skills required for practice as an oral health therapist (which includes both dental hygienist and dental therapist practice). Clinical and health sciences start in first year, with practical clinical simulation classes in the Melbourne Dental School before proceeding to providing dental treatment to public patients in the Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne, and community health centres in urban and regional public clinics. Final year students will also provide treatment to private patients at the University's Melbourne Dental Clinic. Some work integrated learning is undertaken outside the academic semesters. The Bachelor of Oral Health program is accredited with the Dental Board of Australia and graduates can obtain an AHPRA registration to practice following successful completion of the program.
