A Doctor of Philosophy in Veterinary Science helps you demonstrate academic leadership, increasing independence, creativity and innovation in your research work. Postgraduate entry
- A four-year bachelors degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of 75% in the final year subjects or (University of Melbourne) equivalent. (Note: applicants who have completed professional degrees such as a BVSc or DVM will be assessed individually) or
- a masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and achieved a minimum weighted average of 75% or
- a qualification and professional experience considered to be equivalent
- a research proposal, referee reports (except for applications who have graduated from the University of Melbourne within the last five years), and the endorsement of a prospective supervisor. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result.
