Course overview

As an RMIT Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering) (Honours) student, you’ll gain the unique combination of science and engineering skills to work on the development of new products from the initial laboratory stage through to large-scale production. The course covers the application of chemical sciences and technology for the design and improvement of industrial processes. Your studies in the chemistry major in the Bachelor of Science will involve hands-on experience, combined with a theoretical and practical understanding of analytical, instrumental, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry.  Your studies in chemical engineering in the Bachelor of Engineering will focus on design and operation of large-scale industrial plants, using sustainable principles. You’ll learn how to make the processing industries work more efficiently and minimise their environmental impact by using less energy and producing less waste.
