Applicants must have successfully completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the equivalent in your state or territory.
Applicants who have not successfully completed a Year 12 or equivalent should contact Melbourne Polytechnic to discuss pathways options.

Applicants with Higher Education study
Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT)
Applicants who have not completed a Year 12 must complete the STAT Multiple choice.

Applicants who do not meet prerequisites
A completed Bachelor level qualification satisfies all academic requirements for admission to this course.

This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations.
Applicants with VET study
Applicants who have successfully completed the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (previously known as Diploma of Children's Services) but have not met the prerequisite requirements for this course will be considered for admission if they have completed the multiple-choice component of the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).
Applicants with work and life experienceApplicants with relevant industry or life experience that informs applicants' choice of study and their confidence in their ability to undertake the study and have not met the prerequisite requirements for this course will be considered if they have completed the multiple-choice component of the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT).
