Course overview
The Graduate Certificate in Research Skills provides a pathway for students who are considering undertaking a research degree and/or pursuing a career which will require knowledge of the fundamentals of research. It is comprised of four coursework units which will introduce students to the research process; an overview of key methodologies and methods; an opportunity to develop and methodological and analytical skills; organisational skills required for managing research projects; an understanding of the ethical nature and challenges of the research process; a focus on the generic skills of academic writing and professional communication; the opportunity to work with diverse cohort and research staff. These knowledges and skills will provide a foundation both in professional contexts and in any subsequent postgraduate research project.

If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result.
