Course overview

With increasing demand in Australia for health workers, graduates can choose from a range of fulfilling careers as a health science professional. This course is designed to provide you with the foundation, flexibility and pathway for a career in health sciences. It combines studies in health promotion, public health, health policy, health management, health research, gender and health, nutrition, project design, health and disease patterns including disease prevention and management, and integrated learning opportunities in a variety of settings. You will study a common first year after which students select majors and continue with the bachelor program, exit the course with a Diploma of Health Science, or transfer into other courses within our College of Sport, Health and Engineering (subject to meeting selection criteria). Minors available as part of this degree include Bioscience, Health and Nutrition, Health (Sport Science minor) and Indigenous Health.

VTAC Personal Statement Applicants who wish other criteria to be considered such as work/life experience or motivation to study should complete the VTAC Personal Statement. Supporting documentation should include a current resume and any other relevant evidence e.g. letter from employer, professional development activities etc. Work/Life Experience Five years (minimum) work/life experience in Health Sciences or similar, or applicants that completed an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate more than two years ago.
