Bachelor of Biomedicine

Biomedicine is designed to provide excellent education in a broad range of biomedical science and health-related areas of study. At the core of the degree is knowledge of the normal structure and function of the body and consideration of the determinants of disease. First year foundation subjects focus on discovering and exploring the University, your degree, biological diversity and complexity in relation to health and disease. You will delve into key biomolecules, fundamentals of cell biology and chemical processes in a biological context. Finally, you will round out your first-year studies with a selection of mathematics, physics, computing, psychology or data analysis. Second-year compulsory subjects will build on your foundational knowledge and examine several biomedical disciplines. In third year you will complete your major, explore contemporary issues in biomedicine and prepare for professional practice or research training.
