Combining mechanical engineering and industrial design, you'll gain technical and creative skills to engage at a professional level with the design and development of advanced manufactured products.
As an RMIT mechanical engineering and industrial design double degree student, you’ll learn a wide range of skills from the integration of these highly complementary disciplines.
In the final year of your studies you'll undertake a major project that is either industry-based or simulates an industrial situation. You'll have the opportunity to work with industry leaders using the theory and practical experience gained through the course to solve a problem.
You may also complete engineering industry experience that allows you to gain first-hand experience in an engineering practice environment. Opportunities also exist for an overseas work placement.
Graduates may work in mechanical and industrial design areas such as biomedical, automotive and electro-mechanical product design.
