This double degree combines the latest in mechanical engineering with business studies, preparing you for a career in an exciting global industry. As an RMIT mechanical engineering and business student you'll develop skills required to plan, design, develop & improve machinery used in everyday life, while developing business skills critical to success in the international market. Mechanical engineers design, analyse & improve products as diverse as refrigerators, washing machines, vehicles, solar water heaters, pumps, engines, compressors, wind turbines & air-conditioning systems. You’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in our well-equipped laboratories, undertake project work & work experience in industry & the chance to participate in projects such as the Formula SAE racing car teams or work on projects with community partners, and tailor your business studies by completing a major in your chosen interest area.
