RMIT's Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) degree is highly regarded by the local and international news media industry for its blend of theory and practice. Students take part in live productions of radio and TV news and current affairs for community broadcasters and on social media. Students learn to write high quality news, which is published in various internal and external news outlets, while gaining insight into journalism’s unique and vital democratic function. Fact checking, visual and audio journalism and the digital and data newsroom experience are unique to this degree. Graduates have the practical and theoretical knowledge and skills to begin a career in journalism, in Australia and abroad, and can show employers evidence of achievements with a professional portfolio of published work
