Course overview
This honours degree combines a laboratory and studio model of study with state-of-the-art resources to help you demonstrate your ability and establish your reputation and future career. You will study the big issues in contemporary media and communication, expand on your abilities and further investigate your specialisation using sophisticated research and project skills. You will demonstrate your advanced conceptual abilities through project outcomes, examined by key industry and academic leaders. This honours degree is the only one of its kind in Australia, allowing you to work with students from other disciplines in dedicated 24-hour access studio space (for honours students only).

Standard entry
- You must have successfully completed an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent overseas qualification) in a relevant discipline with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 (out of 4.0).
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
