Course overview

With UNE's Bachelor of Agriculture, you will gain practical, production-oriented, specialist skills. You will have the paddock-ready skills and knowledge to solve problems and adapt to future challenges as a professional.

Choose a major from one of three production-based options — animal , plant and  mixed farming — to gain a specialisation allowing you to enter the agricultural industry with expert knowledge and a technical skillset     in the productive management of agricultural landscapes.

Students in UNE’s Bachelor of Agriculture can further specialise with minors in: agricultural sustainability, agricultural technology, business, climate resilience, cotton production, high intensity cropping, genetics, livestock production, plant production, and sheep and wool.

This course is practically orientated, underpinned by science and with close links with industry. Delivering industry-ready and work-capable graduates into a wide range of agricultural careers, with the ability to take a general approach or specialise in animal or plant systems. Graduates are employed in agronomy, animal production, soil science, farm management, precision agriculture and agribusiness. Students can progress to honours and masters programs.

Industry demands graduates capable of understanding and integrating whole agricultural systems. UNE is proud of its long history in agricultural education and is focused on delivering degrees that utilise knowledge from its world class research in agriculture, livestock, soil and plant sciences.

Gain international experience by completing an international exchange for a trimester with one of our partner universities. Enrol in units examining agricultural production and business involving international travel to various Asian, European or North American countries. Complete your practical industry experience overseas.

With small class sizes and excellent staff to student ratios this course is offered both online and on campus.
