One of only four educational psychology courses in the country, our highly regarded Master of Educational Psychology will prepare you to work as a registered psychologist supporting individuals with developmental and learning issues. The course will provide you with valuable skills in counselling, psychological assessment, research methods, intervention, group work, consultation and multidisciplinary team work.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate entry

  • Have completed an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year undergraduate sequence in psychology within the last 10 years (This is a three-year undergraduate degree with a major in psychology, plus a fourth year honours specialisation in psychology, or equivalent), within which you achieved a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75% (or University of Melbourne equivalent), AND
  • If shortlisted, attend an interview. Have completed an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year undergraduate sequence in psychology within the last 10 years (This is a three-year undergraduate degree with a major in psychology, plus a fourth year honours specialisation in psychology, or equivalent), within which you achieved a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75% (or University of Melbourne equivalent), AND Provide a 500-word personal statement outlining your interest in and skills relevant to this course, AND Provide two academic referee reports, submitted online, AND If shortlisted, attend an interview.
English requirement

If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result.
