Course overview

The Graduate Diploma in Genomics and Health provides advanced training in the current and potential impact on health and medicine brought about by advances in genomics and related technologies. Designed for a broad audience, the graduate programs in Genomics and Health will prepare you for a future within a wide range of genomics related careers. Postgraduate entry

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent), and prerequisite studies with marks of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent) in biology to first-year undergraduate level (or equivalent), and genetics to second-year undergraduate level (or equivalent),

  • At least six years of documented relevant work experience AND prerequisite studies with marks of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent) in biology to first-year undergraduate level (or equivalent), and genetics to second-year undergraduate level (or equivalent),
  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with a WAM of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent), and prerequisite studies with marks of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent) in biology to first-year undergraduate level (or equivalent), and genetics to second-year undergraduate level (or equivalent), and at least two years of documented relevant work experience.
  • A 400 word personal statement outlining your motivation for undertaking this course, your proposed career objectives, and how your education/background addresses these entry requirements.
  • Descriptions of relevant biology and genetics subjects undertaken in prior study (not included in the word count).
English requirement
IELTS Academic 6.5

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
