Course overview

Rapid advances in genomics in the last decade are expected to bring about benefits and challenges in health care. These advances require a workforce able to incorporate new ways of thinking about, and applying genomics knowledge in clinical practice and policy. The Master of Genomics and Health provides advanced training in the current and potential impact on health and medicine brought about by advances in genomics and related technologies.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent), AND pre-requisite studies with subject marks of at least H3 (65%) in biology to first-year undergraduate level (or equivalent) AND genetics to second-year undergraduate level (or equivalent).

OR

  • Six years of documented relevant work experience in a directly related discipline, AND pre-requisite studies with subject marks of at least H3 (65%) in biology to first-year undergraduate level (or equivalent) AND genetics to second-year undergraduate level (or equivalent).
  • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in any discipline with a WAM of at least H3 (65%) (or equivalent), AND pre-requisite studies with subject marks of at least H3 (65%) in biology to first-year undergraduate level (or equivalent) AND genetics to second-year undergraduate level (or equivalent), AND at least two years of documented relevant work experience.
English requirement
IELTS Academic 7

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
