Course overview

The Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics at The University of Melbourne provides an understanding of the concepts and analytic skills required to tackle todays ever-increasing quantity of quantitative data in the health sciences, so that we can generate and apply new solutions to real-world problems. The course encompasses the design of experiments and the collection, summary and analysis of data, including, importantly, the interpretation and communication of data analysis to health professionals using real-world datasets.

Entry requirements

  • A bachelors degree (or equivalent) in a directly related discipline from an approved university, with a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 70% (or equivalent), AND
  • Successfully completed at least one tertiary-level mathematics subject that includes elements of multivariable calculus and linear algebra, for which you earned a result of at least 65% (or equivalent).
