Course overview
As a primary school teacher, you will be vital to a student's learning process. You will guide and develop their skills through the various key learning systems of education during their early years at school.
In this course you will learn about:

contemporary approaches to issues in education, such as inclusivity

classroom management and student wellbeing

improving the teaching-learning relationship in the classroom

theory and practice on teaching and learning

developing an informed, evidence-based approach to learning and teaching in primary settings.
During this course, you will gain a combination of academic and practical experience including a minimum of 80 days of supervised practice teaching. You can study a Bachelor of Education Primary online or on campus, part-time or full-time. Should you choose to study online, you'll complete your placements close to home.
When you graduate, your levels of personal literacy and numeracy will be broadly equivalent to the top 30% of the population.

Standard entry
- Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma), and achieve a competitive selection rank. Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE/NTCE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
