Course overview
Prepare to teach in either primary or secondary schools with the Bachelor of Primary Education and Master of Secondary Teaching dual degree. This unique course will give you the flexibility to move between primary and secondary settings as your teaching career progresses without having to gain any other qualifications,
This course can be studied online or on campus, part-time or full-time. you can complete the course in as little as 4.5 years (or 4 years, depending on the subjects you choose), which is almost the same time it takes to complete a single undergraduate teaching degree.
During the course, you will apply your learning with professional experience in classrooms close to home or in unique placements in remote locations across the Northern Territory. You will expand your network for employment opportunities with placements across different stages of schooling.

The course is a mixture of discipline-specific curriculum and pedagogical studies, general education studies and professional experience. When you graduate, your levels of personal literacy and numeracy will be broadly equivalent to the top 30% of the Australian population.
Students are encouraged to review the employer eligibility requirements as they can vary state to state.
On graduating, you will be eligible to register as a teacher in all states and territories in Australia, providing you meet all other requirements.

Standard entry
- Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma), and achieve a competitive selection rank. Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE/NTCE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
