Course overview
In this dual degree students gain a strong foundation in economics principles, theories and tools, along with the in-depth knowledge of a computer science degree. The computer science component combines the theoretical studies of algorithms and data structures with the practical challenges of implementing them in hardware and software systems. Graduates with the skills and knowledge from a degree in computer science are sought after across the breadth and depth of the computing industry, where there is an on-going shortage of people who can participate in shaping the future of the society. The economics component, covers macroeconomics, microeconomics, and statistical tools for decision-making. The conceptual and analytical skills gained from studying economics allows graduates to address complex global challenges, support informed decision-making, and influence policies that impact businesses, governments, and society.
