Course overview
Occupational therapists assist people to overcome challenges caused by injury, illness, psycho-emotional difficulties, developmental delay, or the effects of ageing. Students study a variety of subjects that equip them with knowledge and skills relating to occupational therapy theory and professional practice, health science, health promotion, and research and evidence based practice. Students undertake a number of fieldwork placements throughout north Queensland, with some placements available interstate or internationally. Across their final two years of study, students engage in either a research honours or professional honours project relevant to contemporary occupational therapy practice.
