Course overview

Nurses transform and make a positive impact on people’s lives.

We provide you with a meaningful educational experience, tailored to the many roles nurses play in our community. Nursing can take you to places that you never thought possible, and our two-year accelerated course option is designed to get you there faster.

Our course embraces a primary health care framework, and embraces a primary health care framework, with a student-centred approach, that delivers a variety of high impact engaging learning experiences, diversity of authentic assessments, and contemporary digital learning technologies

In addition to a blended model of learning that combines online learning with on-campus intensive periods, you will undertake a minimum of 800 hours of Professional Experience Placements aligned with your interests, and across a variety of five clinical and healthcare environments.

Your learning is delivered in a highly supported environment. We provide in-person support throughout your studies from dedicated nursing teaching staff, and guarantee a maximum of 1:12 staff to student ratio for your practical and simulation learning experiences. We're here to help you with whatever you need, when you need it, and ensure that your learning experience is personalised and focussed, just like the care you'll be providing as a registered nurse.

We'll prepare you to be solution focused, compassionate, agile, and resilient, developing the clinical reasoning and practical skills required for your role as a registered nurse.

If you need to study away from home, our Relocation and Travel Support Allowance helps cover accommodation and associated costs within Tasmania.

Our Bachelor of Nursing (Accelerated) course has a limited intake each year to ensure placements for all students. Apply now to study in 2023 and kickstart your career in nursing.
