There are few things more exciting than writing your own music and bringing it to life. The Diploma of Music with major in Songwriting at JMC Academy is a practical, 8-month course designed to help emerging songwriters turn their musical ideas into powerful, original works. With a strong focus on individual musicianship, collaboration, and creative development, this course equips you with the essential skills to write, perform, and record songs that resonate. You’ll learn to craft lyrics and melodies that connect, while also gaining experience in performance, music production, and industry fundamentals. Connected with national body APRA AMCOS and international songwriting networks, JMC offers a dynamic foundation for launching your songwriting career or for continuing into the Bachelor of Music.

  • Current Year 12 graduates Educational outcomes considered for selection Completion of an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent). No ATAR required. Minimum age 17. SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme) Applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage are encouraged to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS). Depending on eligibility and your circumstances, a SEAS application may provide support for your course application.
