Course overview

Prepare yourself for a career as an accredited exercise scientist with a course that focuses on improving sports practice and using exercise interventions for healthy people, including high performance and recreational athletes. This course will build your knowledge of the science that underpins sport. You will study sports and exercise-related units across multiple disciplines, including introductory and advanced-level studies in kinesiology, biomechanics, physiology, psychology and motor control. You will learn in state-of-the-art laboratories using hands-on techniques and you will gain practical experience applying your knowledge in both our internal exercise clinic and through external placement hours. You will graduate with eligibility to register as an Accredited Exercise Scientist and with employable skills for a range of roles in exercise and sport science, community sport, recreation and fitness, and health.

Year 12 prerequisites

Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language or at least 20 in English other than EAL.
