Course overview

This double degree combines two highly complementary areas of study fundamental to good health and wellbeing and to improving performance whether in sport or life in general.   Students will capitalize on the synergies between the two fields of study and as graduates promote optimal physical and mental health through the lifespan. The program will provide the basis for postgraduate studies in exercise physiology and further studies in psychology for those intending to pursue registration as a psychologist. The psychology sequence provides comprehensive coverage of psychology, including lifespan development, biological, social and abnormal psychology, individual differences, psychological and research methods, as well as other areas of applied psychology. The Exercise Science component focuses on the roles and benefits of exercise and healthy lifestyles in the contexts of elite sport, recreational physical activity as well as community health and wellbeing.
