Course overview

The Graduate Certificate in Business is for those who want to advance their career, formalise their industry experience or upskill and move into a business-focused role within their field. This course covers key business areas including accounting, financial management, organisational behaviour and marketing management.

The Graduate Certificate in Business caters for both professional and lifestyle commitments by giving students the choice to study on campus at Wollongong or Sydney CBD, or online.

Students undertaking the program have access to a full suite of support services including:

  • access to dedicated course director
  • extensive online library resources, including business journals, electronic books and business databases
  • career and job-seeking assistance, including a specialist careers consultant who is accessible for up to 2 years after you graduate
  • student counsellor.

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Business, you may enrol in a range of master’s programs offered by Sydney Business School and be eligible for credit for the 4 subjects completed within the Graduate Certificate. Progression to the MBA may also be possible with some credit.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

Either:

  • a recognised Bachelor’s degree, or recognised equivalent;
  • 3 years’ full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience or 7 years’ full-time equivalent general work experience.

Applicants with three years' full-time equivalent managerial/professional work experience, or seven years' full-time equivalent general work experience, should contact UOW to discuss their options.

English requirement
IELTS Academic 6 (L 5 / R 6 / W 6 / S 5)

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
