Bachelor of Professional Accounting

Accounting focuses on supplying dependable, timely, and precise information for decision-makers, particularly in economic matters. Accountants play a vital role, whether in multinational corporations, government agencies, or public practice, as they advise senior management on matters of organisational financial performance and direction.

The first year in your Bachelor of Professional Accounting degree covers core disciplines of business, providing a solid understanding of issues facing organisations today. From your second year, you will study subjects required in professional accounting. These include financial reporting, auditing, management accounting, and information systems in accounting. You will learn about financial accounting in its organisational, social and political contexts as well as study relevant law subjects (including taxation law and law of business organisations).

In addition, you will participate in a capstone subject in your final year, allowing you to apply everything you have learned in collaboration with students from other disciplines.  

You also have the opportunity to apply for an internship to gain valuable experience while receiving credit towards your degree. 

After completing the Bachelor of Professional Accounting, you may enrol in a postgraduate business master’s degree and be eligible for up to four subjects credit, reducing your master’s degree to one year. This degree trajectory means you can graduate with your bachelor’s and master’s degree in just four years.
