Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised)
The Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised) is a practical degree providing learning across a broad area of health and medical disciplines, designed to articulate with UWA’s health professional degrees. Multiple specialisations within the biomedical disciplines are offered to enable breadth and depth of learning in your field of interest, including Aboriginal Health and Wellbeing, Human Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology Microbiology and Pathology.

Home to WA's only tertiary Dental School, UWA has trained future dentists for more than 75 years. The Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) is taught by dedicated staff and based at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia, a high-tech dental teaching hospital and learning facility on the QEII Medical Centre. The Doctor of Dental Medicine (91860) is accredited by The Australian Dental Council (ADC). Upon graduation, individuals are eligible to apply for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra), allowing them to practice as a dentist in their chosen field across Australia.

- You will undertake real-world experience with clinical placements in the Dental Health Services in Metropolitan and Rural areas and community settings as well as at the Oral Health Centre of Western Australia (OHCWA).
- Following completion of this course, graduates will be able to register with the Dental Board of Australia as a dentist and enter the profession immediately. Students may pursue careers in private or public practice.

Majors
Any undergraduate major can be taken, however students who complete the Integrated Dental Sciences (Extended Major) may be eligible for one year of credit towards the Doctor of Dental Medicine
Integrated Dental Sciences extended MajorThis extended major is only available to students who are offered an Assured Pathway to the Doctor of Dental Medicine February intake only. It draws on all biomedical scientific disciplines to understand and manage human disease and illness. It contains foundational learning about the roles of a dentist and introduces you to pre-clinical dental training.

- Chemistry ATAR OR a chemistry unit taken in the first year
- Mathematics Applications ATAR OR higher-level mathematics OR a mathematics unit taken in the first year

Entry requirements
Switch between domestic ATAR data and international qualification equivalents.
IB Diploma
24-26Use the ATAR 70 band together with the relevant qualification and prerequisite requirements.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
