Course overview
Students study their preferred areas of specialisation concurrent with a suite of core education units that address key educational needs of young people. Students graduating from this course will have the flexibility to take up employment in both private and government secondary schools.
This major equips students with the skills and knowledge to teach Years 7 to 12 Chemistry and provides the extended content knowledge needed to address the demands and opportunities of the secondary school chemistry curriculum. Emphasis is given to inquiry-based practical work, demonstrations, co-operative group work, whole class discussions and use of information communication technology, to ensure effective learning and teaching practices in secondary science.
