This course provides a professional education in the field of social work. The course develops a student's professional competencies and enhances their ability to work within a complex, uncertain and contested social work practice environment.
Students undertake studies in social work theory and practice, research, politics, policy, law and ethics, with particular reference to the relevance of this knowledge to practice in regional, rural and remote settings.
The curriculum is designed to develop social workers who are able to understand and meet the Practice Standards for Social Workers (AASW, 2013).

Graduates are eligible to apply for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Students who elect to study online will be required to attend on-campus activities for a minimum of 5 days per semester in order to meet the accreditation requirements of the AASW.

- All applicants University general admission requirements apply. Some courses have special admission requirements which are published against the course entries on the University Future Students website. Applicants with work and life experience STAT is accepted for entry. Elements considered: Written English and either Verbal or Quantitative.
