Course overview

Curtin University offers the only comprehensive surveying degree in Western Australia. Surveying is a highly specialised discipline within Engineering and Science (sometimes called Geomatics Engineering or Geomatics) and is a long-established profession, having played a crucial role in the development of Australia since settlement. Furthermore, the evolution of Australian infrastructure will depend upon the skills that surveyors and spatial scientists provide.

Practical Experience / Workbased Learning: This course contains practical surveying exercises and work-relevant components similar to that conducted in civil engineering, resources and environmental industry settings, including field work on campus, hands-on computing and practical exercises with industry standard software and field trips. Attendance at field excursions and survey camps is compulsory.
