Course overview
The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree available at Curtin Medical School is a five-year undergraduate course. The overall aim of the Curtin Medical School is to graduate doctors who are competent and ready to practice safely and effectively, with care and compassion for patients and their families. Curtin Medical School graduates will have a strong foundation for further medical training and lifelong learning. - Essential: Chemistry ATAR or equivalent. School-leaver applicants are required to demonstrate an academic score based on a minimum ATAR of 95 in year 12 or equivalent (including bonus point schemes for domestic students only such as rural or equity (application via Curtin StepUp)). School leavers are those who have completed year 12 or equivalent and have not commenced post-secondary studies (AQF Diploma or above) and do not have a higher degree record from any Australian or overseas university. Undertake the University Clinical Aptitude Test Australia and New Zealand (UCAT ANZ). Undertake the Casper Test in the year of application. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants are not required to sit the UCAT ANZ or the Casper Test. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants can apply directly to Curtin Medical School (Medicine) for the MBBS course via the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander entry pathway.
