Course overview

Our course is a fully online degree with optional face to face components for clinicians and clinical researchers. You will learn the skills needed to generate high quality clinical research and interpret research evidence to improve patient care outcomes. Our course is for health care professionals, clinical researchers and health decision makers who want to learn clinical research methods and build evidence based practice skills.

Entry requirements

Postgraduate and higher courses usually use academic prerequisites, degree equivalence and English-language requirements.

Postgraduate entry

Admission to the course requires:

  • a bachelors degree in a health related discipline with first or second class honours from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification
  • a pass bachelors degree in a health related discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

Applicants must have completed work equivalent to a first or second class honours bachelors degree or pass a preliminary examination(s) as prescribed by the Faculty

  • completion of the first 4 years of an undergraduate medical degree that is accredited by the Australian Medical Council, and a letter of recommendation from the head of clinical school/medical program supporting concurrent enrolment while completing degree requirements.
English requirement
IELTS Academic 6.5, no band below 6PTE Academic 64, no component below 60TOEFL iBT 85 (L 17 / R 17 / W 19 / S 17)

If your current English result is below direct entry, consider the university-recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package; successful completion at the required level can usually satisfy English entry without another English test.
