This unique, fully online degree will equip you with industry-valued knowledge and skills in performance, composition, ear training, music theory, music technology and production, music history and music cultures. The program traverses a broad range of styles and genres across contemporary, classical, popular and electronic music. Please note that you must pass an audition or be granted an audition waiver to gain entry into this course.

Standard entry

You have a minimum musical theory standard of, or equivalent to, Grade 4 of the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) as demonstrated by music qualifications, or completion of the UNE online music theory test.

  • You can pass a performance audition.

This must include two contrasting musical works.

The expected standard is Grade 6 of the AMEB or equivalent in any style.

Alternatively, you may submit a music composition portfolio of two original and contrasting works.

  • You can satisfy the Music discipline of your suitability for studying music through the completion of a Personal Statement assessed by the discipline within six months prior to the date of enrolment.
