Course overview
Bachelor Honours Degrees prepare students to develop advanced knowledge and skills for professional work, research and further learning corresponding to AQF level 8 qualifications. This course educates students in conceptual and theoretical aspects of academic practice. It also provides them with research methodologies appropriate to their honours project and the practical experience of applying concepts to investigation through the production of a dissertation or creative project and exegesis.

Standard entry
- Admission to honours is by invitation and follows high achievement in an appropriate bachelor degree. Any specific course entry and completion criteria must also be met. Other criteria: A bachelor degree in one of the Humanities honours majors, with a course weighted average of 65 or higher. All applicants must submit a two-page research proposal outlining the intended focus of the honours project or dissertation and demonstrating the capacity to undertake research at an honours level.
If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
