Course overview

The Diploma of Marketing gives you the foundational skills to create exciting strategic marketing campaigns. You'll learn that marketing is more than selling something, it's telling a story. Connect with your customer and build unforgettable brands. At Torrens University, you'll develop practical skills that are in demand by employers. Put your learnings into practice with real briefs with real clients.

During this course, you will engage in theoretical constructs that inform marketing practice. You will engage in practice both in simulated marketing workplace roles and in operating businesses and reflect on feedback from industry mentors and assessors. This course comprises eight core subjects and offers a pathway into a Bachelor of Business, as well as a standalone qualification.

Note: This course is also available at our Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney campuses. Flexible study options are available including On-campus, Online or a Hybrid of both.

Areas of Study: Academic and business communications, communications, consumer behaviour, integrated marketing, marketing in digital era. Students can also choose electives in the areas of developing people and culture, event management and operations, introduction to entrepreneurship, sales and negotiation strategies.

Career Opportunities: Assistant product manager, assistant channel manager, assistant brand manager, marketing officer, marketing research assistant, media planner, sponsorship coordinator.

Standard entry

  • Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma). Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have studied at higher education level in the last two years, you must not have accumulated more than a total of two full-time years of higher education study in order to use your STAT/PCA/Employment results. If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. See here .
