Course overview

Our Bachelor of Information Technology is co-designed with industry to prepare you for a career in the ICT industry. Cover programming, software engineering, networks and databases, human-centred design, smart technologies and cloud architecture, and use technical and creative skills with 4.0-era technology to design IT solutions.

Throughout the course, you'll learn how to solve and propose innovative solutions to complex and highly technical problems. You'll cover foundational studies in programming, software engineering, network and database systems, and human-centred design, as well as topics in smart industry technologies, enterprise computing and cloud architectures. A choice of elective subjects, including software development, data analytics, artificial intelligence, web development and UX, game programming and cybersecurity, allows you to tailor the course to your interests. You will also have the opportunity to undertake work experience, which lets you apply your learnings and further prepare for entry into the workforce.

Note: This course is also available at our Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney campuses. Flexible study options are available including On-campus, Online or a Hybrid of both.

Areas of Study: Computer architecture and operating systems, programming, data and networking, cloud computing, interaction design, information systems, database systems, data science. students can also choose electives in the areas of concepts in Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity principles, data mining and visualisation, UX fundamentals and, 2D game programming.

Standard entry

  • Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma). Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have studied at higher education level in the last two years, you must not have accumulated more than a total of two full-time years of higher education study in order to use your STAT/PCA/Employment results. If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. See here .
