This combined degree allows students to complete qualifications in Accounting and Criminology (Honours) with a combined study plan to reduce the overall duration of the degree. Bachelor of Accounting

Develop the expertise and competencies to adapt and thrive in the fast paced financial, consulting and accounting sectors. This degree provides a strong foundation in accounting principles and processes, management accounting, business law, economics, finance, computer information systems, auditing, and taxation law, international accounting developments and standards, and current issues in financial reporting. This degree is accredited by Certified Practising Accountants Australia (CPA Australia), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) and hold professional recognition the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA).

On completion of this Accounting degree students will be able to critically apply broad theoretical and technical accounting, finance, economic and management knowledge and skills to inform financial control and budgeting and analyse accounting practices and decisions using theoretical and technical knowledge of regulatory, governance, compliance and legal requirements. The degree prepares graduates for a career in a range of public and private sectors in Australia and internationally. Potential occupations may include accountant, consultant and analyst; potential employers may include accounting firms, financial management firms and government departments.

Bachelor of Criminology (Honours)

Criminology explores the causes of crime and solutions to address its impact on people and infrastructures, and minimise the social and psychological harms it can cause. This degree provides an appreciation of the ways that ethical behaviour improves justice outcomes; and an understanding of concepts central to the structure and functioning of a just society, such as rights, laws, freedom, power and rules.

On completion of the Criminology (Honours) degree students will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of both classic and contemporary criminological theories; and an understanding of the ways that criminal justice systems function to deliver justice both in Australia and abroad. Students will have the ability to apply criminological knowledge in educational and professional settings and an appreciation of the ways that ethical behaviour improves justice outcomes. This degree prepares graduates for a career in a range operational service associated with criminal justice systems. Potential occupations may include advocacy officer, youth justice case manager and community corrections officer; potential employers may include private security, intelligence services and court administrations.
