The Bachelor of Business (Marketing) provides students with the opportunity to develop broad knowledge and competencies to facilitate careers in business-related fields. Students will be encouraged and supported to develop transferable interpersonal and professional capabilities, including the capability to be reflective, self-evaluating and critically engaged. There is a focus on application of knowledge, competencies and capabilities to diverse and global business/organisational contexts. Students will apply their knowledge and competencies to a broad range of business/organisational practices including systems and processes, planning, production, operations and the use of current and emerging data and analytical practices.

Offering a broad range of study areas, this unique, modern space in the heart of Adelaide is designed for collaborative learning, interactive teaching and industry engagement. Positioned adjacent to the Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace and central to trams and buses, the City Campus provides students with greater connection, convenience and accessibility when selecting their preferred study location.

Please note only Year 1 and 2 topics are available for enrolment in 2025. If you have been granted credit transfer or wish to apply for credit based on previous study, you may not be able to enrol in Year 3 topics or higher until 2026.

Marketing is one of the core activities of all organisations and is about planning and executing the selling and/or promotion of a firm's product. In this degree students learn about the principles of market research, market segmentation, target market identification, pricing strategies, advertising and promotions and international and strategic marketing. Students can also select from a range of additional marketing topics including social media marketing, marketing communications, services marketing and marketing applications.

On completion of this degree students will be able to critically apply broad theoretical and technical accounting, finance, economic, marketing, and human resources management knowledge and skills to inform management planning and analyse management practices and decisions using theoretical and technical knowledge of regulatory, governance, compliance and legal requirements. Students will be able to explain the impact of socially responsible, ethical, economic, regulatory, sustainability, governance and global perspectives on management planning and practices.

This degree provides students with practical experience that prepares them for the workforce. Students will gain hands-on experience through Work-Integrated Learning and industry placement programs. This degree prepares graduates for a wide range of employment opportunities or further study. Potential occupations may include marketing manager, market analyst and marketing consultant; potential employers may include government agencies and private sector businesses.

Combining degrees enables students to follow their interests and aspirations and enhance their career prospects by undertaking a second area of study in addition to their primary degree.
