This degree has been designed to provide a strong foundation in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of network systems and information technology more generally. It provides a comprehensive understanding of computer security, communications technology, administration, network engineering, enterprise systems and information networks.
Practical experience
This degree provides students with the opportunity to gain first-hand industry experience with a 12-week industry placement preparing them for the workforce and giving them the opportunity to build industry connections and develop practical skills, ensuring they are career ready.

On completion of the degree students will be able to competently use professional skills and knowledge in the systematic development of complex networked information systems and demonstrate a broad understanding of the information technology and network systems disciplines.
This degree prepares graduates to be able to design implement, maintain and manage networked computer systems. Potential occupations may include network engineer, cloud applications net developer and information technology security analyst; potential employers may include information technology services, educational institutions and the defence industry.
