Course overview
With a goal to keep our populations healthy, the demand for more health professionals with a broad skill set is increasing. The Bachelor of Health Science provides the skills to fill the gap in the Australian health care system and prepares you to work in a multidisciplinary health industry.
The Bachelor of Health Science has strong health industry connections and course content which leads to work in areas including, health policy and research, health and wellbeing or health promotion. This course offers a pathway into master level studies so you can pursue a career in occupational therapy, nutrition, speech and language therapy, health research and public health.
A core part of the course is the community project which provides opportunity to put your knowledge into practice supported by CDU academic staff. You will have access to international study opportunities and our course offers an Indigenous and international support lecturer.
As a graduate, you will be ready to make a positive difference to health across local, rural and remote Australia and beyond.

Standard entry
- Recent secondary Qualify for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCE) or equivalent recent year 12 qualification (including the International Baccalaureate Diploma), and achieve a competitive selection rank. Year 12 Grades Pathway: Applicants who have not achieved the Selection Rank required for automatic selection into their preferred course may be offered based on their year 12 subject grades. Higher Ed Completed or partially completed a recognised higher education program at a recognised higher education institution, or Completed a University Foundation Studies, Bridging or Enabling program Work-Life Other Completed a non-recent SACE/NTCE or equivalent secondary education qualification with a competitive selection rank, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB), or STAT multiple choice test (optional), or Personal competencies and/or employment experience (optional) If you have been employed in the Australian Defence Force you may be eligible to apply for an undergraduate course on the basis of your service. If the student's current English result is below the direct-entry requirement, consider the university's recognised English language pathway or ELICOS package. When the student successfully completes the approved pathway at the required level, the university may accept that pathway for English entry without requiring a new IELTS, TOEFL or PTE result. Always confirm exclusions for professional registration courses and the offer conditions.
