Course overview
The Bachelor of Science prepares you for a career in science education and produces graduates with well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills in a science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Environmental Science and Physics).
You explore your chosen discipline by undertaking laboratory work and you can also participate in fieldwork, depending on the selected study area. This is not a stand-alone degree, but the first part of a vertical-double degree.
You will continue your studies by undertaking the Master of Teaching (Secondary) to prepare you to teach in science and mathematics education in a secondary school setting. Education and curriculum studies complement content knowledge. Professional experience placements provide the opportunity to work in real educational settings, supervised by practising professional educators.
This course is covered by the QUT Offer Guarantee.
