Course overview
The Bachelor of Information Technology is a three year programme which aims to prepare graduates for professional roles within the information technology (IT) industry. The programme equips students with a broad range of knowledge and practical skills to address evolving technologies and practices in areas such as cybersecurity, database design, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, software engineering, and computer networking. Students gain valuable real-world experience through hands-on projects, including the Internship and Service desk, IT Internship or Helpdesk, Capstone Project, and work placements. Graduates may obtain employment in a wide range of roles in the IT, business, and community sectors in New Zealand or internationally, or progress to further postgraduate study in IT or related areas.
