Course overview
The overall purpose of the Bachelor of Information Systems (BIS) course is to develop competent and practical practitioners who add value to the professional ICT community. The course is designed to combine essential knowledge in core business disciplines with advanced knowledge in ICT. Students will learn the principles behind the design of information systems and how ICT can be used to help organisations to meet their needs. Contemporary and emerging ICT topics such as big data, block chain, business intelligence and Internet of Things are incorporated into the course to ensure the graduates are immersed with the latest developments in ICT.

Standard entry
- Current Year 12 graduates Educational outcomes considered for selection Satisfactory completion of a current or previously approved Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Higher School Certificate (HSE) or equivalent. OR Satisfactory completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma) including English. AND Applicants must be minimum of 17 years of age prior to commencing the course. Entry Requirements Satisfactory completion of a current or previously approved Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Higher School Certificate (HSE) or equivalent. OR Satisfactory completion of the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma) including English. AND Applicants must be minimum of 17 years of age prior to commencing the course. No ATAR is required. This includes applicants who have completed or partially completed a degree or higher education diploma. AND Applicants must be minimum of 17 years of age prior to commencing the course. Applicants with VET study Entry requirements Satisfactory completion of one year of an Australian Qualifications Framework accredited award at the level of Certificate IV or above. AND Applicants must be minimum of 17 years of age prior to commencing the course. Applicants with work and life experience Work and life experience Mature age entry for applicants over the age of twenty one who can demonstrate a capacity for successful study at undergraduate level through work and life experience as assessed by the Academic Dean.
