Course overview

This degree program has a focus in mainstream information technology together with a choice of specialised major studies in network security, business information systems and software development. This program was developed to meet the growing demand for business professionals qualified in the areas of information technology of various specialised needs. The course focus is on students and practical application is emphasised. Upon completion of the core subjects, students can then choose their major study. All core units are delivered at both Prahran and Preston. Students can exit their study after two years of study with an Associate Degree in Information Technology.

Current Year 12 graduates

Educational outcomes considered for selection

Successful completion of your Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or the equivalent in your state or territory, or successful completion of the International Baccalaureate.

SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme)

Applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage are encouraged to apply for the Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS).

Depending on eligibility and your circumstances, a SEAS application may provide support for your course application.

VTAC Personal Statement

Applicants who have recent secondary education within the past two years are required to complete a VTAC Personal statement and include details of relevant employment, any studies commenced since completing Year 12 and other evidence of ability to successfully complete this course.

Applicants with Higher Education study

This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations.

Applicants must submit a VTAC Personal statement form and include details of relevant employment, prior studies and other evidence of ability to successfully complete this course.

Applicants who do not meet prerequisites

Applicants who have commenced or successfully completed a higher education qualification will be considered for admission.

Applicants with VET study

Applicants who have achieved a VET qualification at Certificate IV or higher will be considered for admission.

Applicants with work and life experience

Interview

Applicants with work and life experience must book and attend an interview.

The booking system will remain open throughout the application and change of preference periods.

Applicants who have relevant industry or life experience will be considered for admission.
