Course overview

This degree program is designed for songwriters, composers, and music producers, all of whom are taught as artists. We recognise that contemporary music is created by diverse musicians using a wide range of methods and technical skills—from singer-songwriters and composers to recording producers. The program supports both artistic and commercial pathways, with core training in songwriting and music production. Students also study sustainable music career skills, music history, and cultural theory, which encourage new ways of thinking about music and the world. A wide selection of electives is available, including video clip production, launching record labels, live performance, and composing for film. Students may choose to exit after two years with an Associate Degree in Songwriting and Music Production. Our curriculum is regularly reviewed and updated to reflect developments in the contemporary music industry, with the most recent accreditation cycle commencing in 2024.
